System Engineer
POSITION: System Engineer
LOCATION: Düsseldorf, Berlin, Bayreuth, Würzburg
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The position holder is responsible for the system design engineering activities within the project. This includes defining technical solutions that meet customer requirements, standards, technical regulations, and environmental conditions, while optimizing them in terms of competitiveness and feasibility. The role also involves preparing technical documentation for clients and specifications for internal use or for subcontractors.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the point of contact for clients and subcontractors on relevant technical matters.
- Prepare technical documentation for clients and specifications for internal use or subcontractors.
- Develop detailed cost calculations for all materials and services, and prepare the technical content to be delivered to the client.
- Support the creation of formal documentation and design information for cable, accessory, and installation activities.
- Work on details not fully defined during the tender phase, such as the design of special components, qualification test coordination, prototype design, etc., with the aim of optimizing cable and system design to reduce project costs.
- Develop new calculation methods and procedures for product and system design proposals, ensuring all work meets required technical and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Engineering, e.g. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with several years of relevant professional experience (preferably in HVDC cable business, and additionally in HVAC cable design and engineering, including basic understanding of the cable installation process).
- German and English language skills: C1 level or higher.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and goal-oriented mindset.
- Pragmatic and hands-on approach.
