POSITION: Contract Administrator
LOCATION: Düsseldorf, Würzburg, Bayreuth, Berlin, Deutschland
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The position holder supports the organization and project team in managing all contractual aspects with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the entire project lifecycle.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all contractual documentation during project execution and warranty phases, including (but not limited to) reviewing and preparing contract amendments, documents, and extensions.
- Provide advice and interpretation of contract clauses and requirements.
- Support and promote the change management process, including the preparation and review of variation orders, claims, counterclaims, and penalties, as well as defending against claims from clients, subcontractors, and main suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including monitoring milestones, issuing notifications on time, and coordinating with the project team.
- Act as a central point of contact to raise awareness of contract terms — prepare contract analyses, organize contract introduction meetings, and produce reports, interpretations, and evaluations.
- Collaborate and coordinate with corporate functions (e.g. Finance, Legal, Compliance, IP) on specific matters and potential disputes.
- Oversee, draft, and review all contractual correspondence between Prysmian and its clients, as well as between joint venture/consortium partners and subcontractors/suppliers.
- Ensure, together with relevant departments, that all insurances and guarantees required by contracts are properly obtained and maintained.
- Support the procurement department in negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring back- to-back implementation of subcontracts.
- Contribute to project closing activities with clients, partners, subcontractors, and key suppliers, including ensuring the issuance or receipt of all required certificates (e.g. milestone confirmations, handover or acceptance certificates).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- University degree in Law.
- Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contracts, ideally in the cable or energy sector.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience as a Project Contract Administrator.
- Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and adapting contracts.
- Experience with international subcontracts and their back-to-back implementation.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary technical teams.
- German and English language skills: C1 level or higher.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Decisiveness, teamwork, and strong communication skills.
- Conflict management and negotiation skills.
